Ore Energy is commercialising iron-air long-duration battery storage with up to 100 hours of discharge using iron, air, and water. The first grid-connected pilot is online at The Green Village in Delft and a second 100-hour pilot is running at EDF labs in France. The company spun out of TU Delft in 2023 and is the first iron-air system entirely built within the EU.
